About the Teaching Practices Workshop Series:

Offered as a collaboration with the Center for Faculty Excellence, we aim to expose UNO and affiliated educators to new educational strategies, including within the high-impact realms of inquiry-based learning, undergraduate research, and inclusive teaching.

Facilitator: Norm Vaughan, PhD - Professor, Department of EducationMount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Abstract: An inquiry-based approach to learning is based on John Dewey’s (1933) philosophy that education begins with the curiosity of the learner. This session will provide participants an opportunity to use the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework to discuss and design inquiry-based learning activities that engage students and align with the learning outcomes for a blended or online course.
