Healthy Living for your Brain and Body

 Lunch and Learn

Course Overview

This is the fourth lunch and learn in the series of Community Education programs brought in partnership between Black River Technical College and Alzheimer's Association.  These workshops are led by professionals from the Alzheimer's association and are being taught as FREE workshops to the community to bring awareness to Alzheimer's disease.

For centuries, we've known that the health of the brain and the body are connected.  But now, science is able to provide insights into how to optimize our physical and cognitive health as we age.  Join us for Healthy Living for your Brain and Body: Tips from the Latest Research to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.

As many as 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease and that figure is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.

Each year more-and-more baby boomers turn 65 - which is not only the age of Medicare eligibility, it is also the age of greatest risk for developing Alzheimer's disease.

Early diagnosis gives individuals the power to make choices about their own health and future with Alzheimer's in the picture.
