This is the second lunch and learn in the series of Community Education programs brought in partnership between Black River Technical College and Alzheimer's Association. These workshops are led by professionals from the Alzheimer's association and are being taught as FREE workshops to the community to bring awareness to Alzheimer's disease.
The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease is a program designed to educate attendees about the difference between normal memory loss and Alzheimer's disease.
As many as 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease and that figure is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
Each year more-and-more baby boomers turn 65 - which is not only the age of Medicare eligiblity, it is also the age of greatest risk for developing Alzheimer's disease.
Early diagnosis gives individuals the power to make choices about their own health and future with Alzheimer's in the picture.
