Advanced Hydraulics

Course Overview

Reduce downtime!  Give your maintenance crew the next level of hydraulics knowledge they need to troubleshoot and improve equipment usage.   This class will be a mix of theory and hands-on labwork. Participants should already have a basic knowledge of hydraulics theory. 

Topics

 

  • Discuss and work with fundamental fluid power principles and formulas
  • Gain hands-on experience with the functional characteristics of hydraulic components; Spend time building and troubleshooting hydraulic circuits. 
  • A practical study of pumps, flow valves, pressure valves, directional valves, hydraulic motors, filters, cylinders, and accumulators 
  • Troubleshooting tactics
  • A practical study of petroleum based and fire retardant fluids.
  • Hydraulic power units
  • The class will design and build a hydraulic test stand in class - time between class periods is based upon ordering parts.

Starts November 6  at 1pm.  

3-5 more class sessions will be scheduled thereafter according to the progress of the class project.
