Now that I know the jist of what Continuous Improvement is, how can I apply it in my space? 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This workshop builds on the skills learned in CI 101 and is intended to enable participants to learn and engage with continuous improvement tools in the context of an outcome area.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Teams who are ready to dive into the Continuous Improvement (CI) process.

ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES?

Yes! 'LEANing Into Results Oriented Work' is an advanced Continuous Improvement workshop. To jump in to this intensive, one-day applied learning session, we ask that teams complete 'CI 101: Introduction to Continuous Improvement' and complete an application for this workshop. Upon approval, teams will need to complete pre-work with the coaching of Youth Initiative staff. To get an application for this workshop, please contact Ashley at ashleyedinger@acyi.org

 What is the problem you are trying to solve?

  • Identify the Problem - Example: Students are not enrolling in post-secondary opportunities
  • Identify your Community Level Outcome - Example: Post-Secondary Enrollment
  • Create a Results Statement - Example: All students in Camden County will complete the FAFSA
  • Determine your Indicator - Example: % of students completing FAFSA

What is the Measurement Tool? - Example: FAFSA

Verify the Problem - Show data that verifies this is a problem - Run Charts - We will provide data coaching to help

Pen and notepad to take notes with. Documents created during pre-work coaching. We will provide breakfast and lunch!

FACILITATED BY?

Latife Bulur Kowalski, North America Master Black Belt, Cummins Inc.

Originally from New Jersey, Latife came to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Sociology in 2004.  After graduation, she worked for various companies such as the CU Foundation as the Records Specialist, processing donations and memberships.  In 2008, Latife graduated with her Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Denver.  Since 2010, Latife has been working for Cummins Inc., currently as the Master Black Belt serving the North America Distribution Business. This role involves the management of the 6 Sigma and Continuous Improvement program for North America.  This includes providing coaching for existing Green and Black Belts as well as training new Belts and Project Managers.  In her free time, Latife enjoys spending time with her family and close friends, especially with her 2 year old, Aria, and her husband, Jeremy.
