Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Brings Free WV Film Office Seminar To Elkins, West Virginia, Wednesday, October 12, at 2 PM in the Old Brick Playhouse.
ELKINS, W. VA. – The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce will bring speaker Pam Haynes, Director of the West Virginia Film Office, to The Old Brick Playhouse at 2 PM on Wednesday October 12, for a free seminar discussing the economics and business of film in the Mountain State.
The History Channel, We Are Marshall, and Steve Spielberg and J.J. Abrams’ blockbuster Super 8 are merely a few productions recently filmed in West Virginia. Super 8 alone had a $50 million dollar budget. It suffices to say, recruiting and obtaining more productions like this would boost our area’s economy.
Haynes and her team will discuss the ease of becoming involved in the film industry, how to help build West Virginia’s location library (a library directors use when scouting for a possible feature), and more! Learn how to become involved on film sets, and behind the scenes.
There is no charge to attend this event and it is open to the public. Please join us, Wednesday, October 12, at 2 PM at the Old Brick Playhouse.
