Empowerhouse Empty Bowl

Please join us on February 8, 2015 at our annual Empty Bowl event to benefit Empowerhouse and their efforts end domestic violence in our community.  Tickets are available for $50 per person.  By attending one of our events and/or making a tax-deductible donation, you can make a huge difference in the lives of survivors and their families.

  • $50 - provides one night of shelter and services for a woman and a child to stay at the Haven Shelter.
  • $105 - prevention:  to educate one class at area middle or high schools with a presentation on teen dating violence and healthy relationships.
  • $150 - one woman can access the 24-hour hotline and then complete a cycle of educational support groups to aid in the recovery from domestic violence and help her to achieve hope and freedom (3 months or longer).
  • $175 supports one domestic violence victim through the civil and/or criminal court system (the duration of this process may be months and sometimes years).
  • $230 pays for a child to attend the weekly Forgotten Victims Educational Support group (3 months or longer).
  • $350 pays for one at-risk teen or teen victim to complete an educational support group to help recognize and exit an abusive relationship quickly or keep from entering one in the first place (3 months).
  • $465 - the entire stay and services at our domestic violence shelter for a child exposed to domestic violence while accompanying mom (average stay is 1 month).
  • $1,000 pays for a survivor of domestic violence to be safely sheltered and to obtain a protective order and return home.
  • $1,500 pays for shelter and services to support one family of four obtain safety during their shelter stay and move toward independence.
  • $3,500 helps us to move one family experiencing domestic violence into their own housing, an initiative toward sustaining them with services and rental subsidies until they achieve financial stability and function independently of charitable community support.
  • $12,500 can help us open a new shelter, where 12 families will reside working toward their freedom and independence from abuse. This donation will be recognized by naming a room after the donor.
