Announcing the 2014 FBE Spelling Bee

 Just Bee ResizedWhen:  Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 3pm - 8pm

Where:  Belmont High School Auditorium and Cafeteria

Who: Grades K-6

To Benefit:  The Foundation for Belmont Education

Please join us for the Foundation for Belmont Education's (FBE) 14th Annual Spelling Bee! Spellers may participate in three- or four-person teams. The kindergarten, first/second, and third/fourth grade swarms are non-competitive. The fifth/sixth grade swarms are competitive using our famous “two stingers before you’re out” rule. Everyone is encouraged to wear team attire at what is always an afternoon filled with spelling and fun.

Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be available for sale in the cafeteria.

Registration for the Bee is due by Friday, October 17. Registration is online. Each speller must be separately registered.  If you need to register additional siblings, you must do so all at the same time or use a different email address for the second registration. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Due to the phenomenal growth of this event, we will not be able to accept late registrations. Please remind your teammates to register by the deadline. You will receive an email confirmation shortly after you complete your registration but you should also plan to check the FBE website approximately one week before the event for your speller's swarm (stage) time. The entry fee is $28 per speller.

Word lists, rules, and FAQs are available on the FBE website:

We welcome your participation!  Bee there!

Since opening its doors in 1993, the Foundation has dedicated itself to making a difference in the Belmont Public Schools. Thanks to gifts from thousands of Belmont residents, we have given more than $2.6 million in grants to the Belmont Public Schools to support over 558 projects initiated and organized by teachers, administrators, and staff. Foundation grants have had an impact in every school in town, and on the lives of hundreds of teachers and thousands of students.
