DIVISION/DEFINITIONS:

A PROFESSIONAL is:  any individual who received financial support, products, or service in support of competitive shooting activities, including members of the military, is considered to be a professional.

OPEN PROFESSIONAL:  An Open Professional is allowed to bring and compete with their own firearms and ammunition under the following conditions.

  • Anyone who brings and uses any personal firearm/ammunition in any event, must compete in the Open Professional Division.
  • The Open Professional must supply their own ammunition for each event in which they use a personal firearm.  Personal ammunition may only be used in personal firearms.
  • The Open Professional may elect to use the provided firearm and ammunition in any stage(s) they choose, but such election does not change their division.
  • The firearm provided by the Open Professional must match the platform type, optics type and caliber of those firearms used by other competitors who compete with provided firearms.  An example is a stage where the provided firearm and ammunition is an AR-15 type platform in .223/5.56mm caliber; the Open Professional's firearm must also be an AR-15 type platform in .223/5.56mm caliber.  If optics are allowed on the provided firearm, the Open Professional is also allowed to compete with a matching optic type.  If iron sights are used on the provided firearm, then the Open Professional must also use iron sights.  The Open Professional's equipment is not required to match the provided equipment exactly.  The Open Professional's equipment is considered to be Open as well and can vary in many ways such as barrel length, stock configuration, optics power, etc.
  • The Open Professional is only allowed the same round count as authorized to other competitors on that stage.
  • Open Professionals will compete for cash awards only and not be eligible to make a selection from the prize table.

STOCK PROFESSIONAL: A Stock Professional is anyone who meets the definition of a "Professional" (above), but who does not bring any personal firearms/ammunition to the competition and uses, in all stages the firearms and ammunition made available to all competitors.

AMATEUR:  An Amateur is anyone who does not meet the definition of the "Professional (above), who does not bring any personal firearms/ammunition to the competition, and uses, in all stages, the firearms and ammunition made available to all competitors.

PROPER ENTRY:  Competitors must enter the correct division in which they belong.  Any competitor who enters the tournament in an improper division will be disqualified with forfeiture of the entry fee.  Competitors may change divisions after their initial registration but must make such change before they fire their first shot in the tournament.  Division changes must be done in the Statistical Office and cannot be made on the range at the individual events.  The firing of the first stage will not be delayed to allow a competitor to return to the Stat Office to make changes.  A division change may be done only once and will cost $100.00.

Whenever a Mulligan card is used to refire a stage, the score of the refired stage is the score that stands.  The score from the first attempt at firing the event is disregarded, even though it might be a higher score.

AWARDS NOTE: Competitors may or may not compete in all stages of the match at their discretion.  Not firing a certain stage will decrease the overall match score but does not prohibit a competitor from participating.
