Part I: "Sexual Behavior in Children and Teens - When To Really Worry"

 When you know the different phases of child and teen sexual development, common and uncommon behaviors, and how to effectively talk to kids who are behaving this way, the kids in your care are protected — and so are you.

• Typical sexual behavior and sexualized behavior and when to really be concerned
• Childhood psychological and social sexual development and the common sexual behaviors for each age group
• Practical Tips and scripts for interacting with children and teens engaging in this type of behavior
• Practical Tips for reporting and documenting behavior
• A quick assessment tool you can put right to work!

Part II: "Talking to Parents — Engaging Parents in Conversations about Childhood Sexuality"

Parents can be reticent when it comes to conversations about their children and sexual behavior of any kind! This class will help you truly connect with and support parents when there is an issue involving their child.

You will learn

• Parents’ underlying state of mind — and yours — it’s the same!
• Do’s and don’ts for successful conversations about sexual behavior in children
• How to keep a parent calm during a heated conversation
• Practical scripts and tips for effective communication
• The most effective and easiest thing you can do to make any uncomfortable conversation go more smoothly
