Join us in Portland for OMA's Assistant Workshop. We will meet at the Providence Childcare Center. This informative workshop will inspire assistants at all teaching levels and is designed for both seasoned and new assistants in the Montessori classroom.
Kathleen Lloyd, PhD, and Amy Williams, MA, will present the workshop. They will discuss Montessori theory in practice, the importance of observation, and the role of the assistant in managing transition times, gathering small groups, and protecting the environment. They will offer break out sessions by age level taught.
Kathleen Lloyd earned a PhD. in human development and family science from Oregon State University in 2008. She received her AMI Primary Diploma in 1987 and a master’s in education in 1990. She has spent thirteen years as a primary directress at both Marin Montessori School in California and Pacific Crest School in Seattle, Washington. She currently teaches early childhood education at Lane Community College (Eugene, OR).
Amy Williams is the Enrichment Director at Providence Montessori School. She has been teaching and training educators for nearly 20 years.
