“Meet the new editor of the Naples Daily News - Manny Garcia”
The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Gulf Coast Chapter will host a luncheon program highlighting the Naples Daily News on Tuesday, April 22 at the Hilton Naples, 5111 U.S. 41 N. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with social and networking, with the lunch presentation to follow immediately at noon.
The guest speaker will be Manny Garcia, recently appointed Editor of the Naples Daily News. Prior to joining the NDN, Garcia was Executive Editor and General Manager of el Nuevo Herald in Miami. He also spent 18 years at The Miami Herald, where as a reporter and editor, his investigations have changed Florida law, led to the arrests of numerous public officials, ousted a sitting congressman and helped free a man serving life for murders he did not commit.
His projects have helped win an IRE award, Goldsmith and Pulitzer prizes. Garcia serves on the board of Investigative Reporters & Editors, American Society of News Editors and Florida Society of News Editors.
