MI-Oct 18-19, 2018-CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department

CCAR's Center for Addiction Recovery Training is pleased to announce a brand new curriculum for Recovery Coaches who are working currently in an Emergency Department setting or would like to. This two day training is geared towards those who have already completed the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy.

Learning Objectives for this course include:

  • Describe the roles and functions of the Recovery Coach working in the Emergency Department;
  • Understand and practice staying in your lane;
  • Develop skills to advocate and educate staff, patients, etc.  as a way to demonstrate accountability within the role;
  • Use of Motivational Interviewing (MI) to bring people through the stages of change into Recovery;
  • Further develop your art of Recovery Coaching.

We are proud to announce our collaboration with The ART of Coaching as a CART Collaborative site. Core trainer, Kevin McLaughlin will facilitate this new training in Michigan!!!

What is the CART Collabrative?  CART Collborative sites are sites that have been vetted by CCAR's Center for Addiction Recovery Training (CART) as providing the same exceptional training programs many have traveled to Connecticut to receive.  The trainers and location have been approved by CART and will maintain the excellance and fidelity thousands have come to know and trust from our training programs.

Join us on Thursday, October 18, 2018 to Friday, October 19, 2018 rom 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. at Baxter Community Center 935 Baxter St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506
