Regional Roundtable on West Virginia Food and Farms - Mountain Region

Citizens and organizations are invited to attend a roundtable meeting in their area to discuss West Virginia’s “food system.”  Six regional roundtables will be occurring throughout the state, promoted through a partnership between the West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition, West Virginia University Extension Services, the WV Department of Education, WV Community Development Hub, and other local partners.

Why?  To discuss what is needed to strengthen our state’s local food economy and to get more healthy, locally-farmed food to the plates and forks of West Virginians.  Offer your ideas and provide input to the new West Virginia Food Charter!

Who is invited?  Individuals, businesses, organizations & agencies involved with farming, gardening, and eating, food processing, food storage and distribution, grocery stores and restaurants, 4H and FFA , institutional food service, nutrition and food assistance programs, and food distribution through food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens.  The "Mountain Region" Regional Roundable is specifically targeting individuals in Wyoming, Raleigh, McDowell, Mercer, Summers, Monroe, Fayette, Greenbrier, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Webster and Braxton Counties.  However, those from neighboring areas may also attend.

For more information visit the West Virginia Food Charter page or contact Savanna Lyons, WV Food & Farm Coalition Program Manager at 304.673.0053 / s.lyons@wvhub.org.
