2014 Adopt-a-Senior for Mother's Day - Peoria

 

Imagine if you were a senior citizen in a nursing home and NO friends or relatives ever came to visit you…not even for holidays. 50 of the 74 residents at this home NEVER have any visitors throughout the year.

Neighbor Love wants to brighten the day of a WHOLE BUNCH of valuable seniors THIS Mother’s Day.               Adopt-a-Senior for Mother’s Day is a GREAT way to let a valuable senior know that someone still loves them.

We are delivering Mother’s Day party gift bags to seniors at Sharon Health Care Elms

Neighbor Love will be delivering gift bags of goodies to seniors on Sunday, May 11^th, 1-2:30pm at Sharon Health Care Elms, 3611 NORTH ROCHELLE, PEORIA, IL 61604.

Our goal is to provide a gift bag to EVERY senior woman in Sharon Health Care Elms totaling 35.

The gift bags will include: skin lotion, socks, a rose, a piece of fruit, a hand-made Mother’s Day Card, and a stuffed animal. (exact contents of gift bag are subject to change according to availability of merchandise and the amount of donations received)

The investment to Adopt-a-Senior for Mother’s Day is just $20 per gift bag. You can sponsor as many seniors as you would like. A donation of ANY amount is appreciated.

DEADLINE to Adopt-a-Senior for Mother’s Day is Wednesday, May 7th. 

Join us and you can know that you have brightened the day of a valuable senior. And no matter what, PLEASE spread the word about this to ALL of your friends and family. The more exposure we get will help us meet our goal.

If you want to drop off merchandise for us to place in the gift bags, you can do so by visting Flying D Dancewear in the Metro Center.

We could use your help in the following ways: 

1)      Pray for God’s favor on this service project.

2)     Delivering the gift bags, spreading the love of God, to the residents. Adults and their children are welcomed.  Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

5)   Spreading the word about the event to ALL your friends. Please forward this event to them and/or post it on your social media.

6)      Adopt-a-Senior for Mother’s Day for just $20 per gift bag.  Sponsorship of gift bags would be appreciated but in no way a requirement to volunteer for the event.
