LAUNCH Day 2021 / Saturday, Sept 18

LAUNCH Day builds friendships among students, connections between students and adult leaders, and launches a brand-new school year while enjoying beautiful Camp Capers! Students in grades 6 - 12 will have opportunities for learning, playing, and relaxing together all weekend. Youth will room with others their same age/gender and be given many opportunities to get to know each other, whether they came in with many friends or not knowing anyone.

The mission of Launch Day is to strengthen the relational connections built during AHUMC Youth Sunday School, Youth Group, and other youth activities. We hope this day-long retreat helps to move students toward relationships and engagement with God throughout the year. And we want any new students who would like to see what AHUMC Youth is all about to join us!

WHERE:  Camp Capers in Waring, TX  (418 FM 1621, Waring, TX 78013)

TIMEArrive on the West side of AHUMC (toward the Quarry) by 7:30am on Saturday, Sept 18 then return to the church for pick-up at 10:00pm that night. 

COST: (*refund policy is listed below):

Regular Registration (now - Sept 13) $75 Students / Adults-Volunteers Free                          

*Cost includes:  t-shirt, food, and all activities at Camp Capers

**Partial scholarships (25% off) are readily available upon request for early bird and regular registrants; simply email Laura Peel (lpeel@ahumc.org) BEFORE registering to make this request. 

***DONATIONS:  Options to donate snacks for the day or funds to cover the cost of a student's registration are available when you register.

****Volunteers:  We need adult volunteers helping in many ways to make this day happen. Volunteer options are available when you register.

You can turn them in on Sundays or mail them to the church (825 E Basse Rd, 78209) to the attention of Laura Peel, Student Ministry Admin Asst

STUDENT MINISTRY REFUND POLICY:   Refunds may be granted up to two weeks before the event.  Refunds will not be granted less than two weeks prior to an event except for major reasons (student is hospitalized, death in the family, etc.).  This is because significant work is handled in the two weeks prior to an event (volunteers finalized, rooming assignments made, transportation finalized, groups formulated, leaderss assigned, etc.) and changes made cause undue problems.  In some circumstances, we are unable to grant refunds due to payments or contractual agreements having been made in advance for that person (i.e., airline tickets purchased, food/lodging reserved, etc.).
