Vision 2020

FPA of Silicon Valley Symposium

Symposium Snapshot
The First Annual FPA of Silicon Valley Symposium is not to be missed in 2020. Held at the convenient location of the Franklin Templeton campus in San Mateo, planners serious about gaining a clear vision for their practices will attend this premiere event. Financial professionals will be offered the opportunity to learn how to relate to their clients who are preparing for their aging cycle individually along with how to develop language that resonates with all of their clients, no matter their investing stage. Attendees will hear from one of Franklin Templeton's top executives on the pulse of 2020, and throughout the day, will be offered the opportunity to earn essential continuing education credits. All of this would not be complete without ample time to network with other professionals and FPA chapter partners. Begin 2020 with a clear vision and register for the FPA Silicon Valley Symposium - Vision 2020.

On the Itinerary - 5 Hours CFP CE
The Solo Ager Client, Sara Zeff Geber, Ph.D., Certified Retirement Coach
The coming decade will find more and more baby boomers depending on financial planners to help them navigate the waters of aging. Understanding who among a planner’s client base qualifies as a solo ager and mapping out a care and support plan for them will be a very important part of the job. The presentation will include a look at the support network of solo agers, review the stages of aging, and include a look at housing options and how clients can develop and nurture their support system as they age. Finally, Sara will offer attendees a tool that will help facilitate an important conversation between planner and client about ways in which their future support needs can be met.

Priceless - The Meaning of Value, Todd Barney CIMAŽ, CPWAŽ, VP - Sr. Advisor Consultant, Invesco                                                                                                        Fees are on sale. Should you join the discounters, or should you learn how to better communicate your value? Invesco Consulting teamed up with political consultant and word specialist, Maslansky + Partners, for a 6-month study on what investors think. What do they value and how should their advisors respond? Do they want "low-cost" or "high-value"? A "financial plan" or "financial planning"? "Discretionary accounts" or "advisor-managed accounts"? The study included advisor interviews, investor dial sessions and a survey of 1,000 North American investors. The research uncovered new “cries” from investors and resonating responses from advisors when defending, defining and delivering value.
