Public Employee Retirement Benefits: Will They Eat the State of California, or Just Parts of It?
Speaker: Chuck Reed, former mayor of San Jose
Meeting Description
Bad financial planning practices in California have created an enormous debt of retirement obligations. Paying down those obligations is a painful task that is resulting in service cuts and tax increases around the state. The next recession will drive weaker jurisdictions into service delivery insolvency and bankruptcy as they struggle to pay ever increasing retirement costs with shrinking revenues. What can we do about it?
1.5 hours CE has been granted for this session by the CFP Board.
