IT'S YOUR TIME TO SHINE!!

Students This is your time to shine and put into practice all that you have learned this year in patient clinical history taking.

The purpose of this competition is to learn but also to have fun.  As you know, you really don't know how to do something until you do something!

Please take a moment (2 minutes) to register for your "patient appointment" slot.  Our doctors will be ready and waiting to be "the patient."  Don't miss this opportunity.  Clinical exposure opportunities like this, particularly for minority students are rare. Developing proficiency in clinical history taking will not only introduce you to the "language of medicine," you will gain a valuable glimpse into the real life work of doctors.  It will also give you a comfort and familiarity with the world of medicine. This will give you an advantage on your medical school clerkships or even simply while rounding and shadowing with your mentor.  It is even valuable for students who hope to one day scribe for physicians as they journey to medicine.

But What If I Missed A Saturday Morning Professor Series Session?

While it is best to NOT miss it sometimes happens. Use what you know and skip over what you missed.  For students who missed the REVIEW OF SYSTEMS (our last class), there will a cheat sheet of questions to help guide you through this.  If it is hard for you to complete, just skip it.

Scholarships!

Winners of our competition will have the opportunity to gain full and partial scholarships for incredible opportunities within the foundation like "Medical Missions In Haiti With Dr. Joy," Costa Rica Medical Immersion 6 Weeks Program, Cuba Health System Tour and more. Students will also have the opportunity to gain scholarship support for MCAT Prep and Applications.
