Premiere in Markt Schwaben amüsiert das Publikum
Mitteln und einem schlichten Bühnenbild,
dafür mit umsomehr Leidenschaft
werden die verschiedenen
biblischen Charaktere auf die
Bühne gebracht. Undtrotz der Höhen
und Tiefen, trotz der tragischen
Momente, die die Heilige
Schrift zu bieten hat, ist „Und
Gott lachte . . .“ wahrlich kein
Drama. Es gibt zahlreiche lustige
Momente, die das Publikum an diesem
Premierenabend erleben darf.
Die Gute Nachricht des barmherzigen
Gottes verliert das Stück
dennoch nie aus dem Blick – ein
Grund für die Gemeinde also, die
Einladung der beiden Schauspielerinnen
nicht zu bereuen.

GOD LAUGHED...NO JOKE! (Gott Lachte...ohne Witz!)
A Comedy in One Act written by Kathleen Ann Thompson
Titus & Cornelius
Civil strife, Economic collapse, Republican corruption and Loss of faith beset Rome in 60AD, whose emperor was, no other than that son of Jupiter, Nero. The self proclaimed emperor of the world has put Christians in Rome under his persecuting thumb. Thus…for two newly baptized Greek slaves serving as pantomime servants in the house of Flavius Nerva, it’s a very stressful time. A pot of boiling oil, the stinging flagella of their master’s whip and a coliseum stocked with hungry lions fill the thoughts of Cornelius and Titus as they plot and scheme about how to pacify the Roman Senator Flavius Nerva-their master.
The two Greek slaves are so excited by their recent conversion to Christianity that they make the grave error of suggesting to their master that there is a single God; and what’s worse---that He laughs! In a furious rage, Flavius Nerva gives his two slaves one hour to prepare their explanation of this heresy.
WHAT TO DO?
How to find the moment when God laughed in the story?
How to tell the whole story of God before the sand in the hour glass runs out?
How to save themselves from being some lion’s dinner if they fail
*God Laughed is performed in either English or German (Gott Lachte...ohne Witz)
