All Day Summer Camp: Young Money Makers ( Financial Literacy)
Kids ages 7-12
Did you know that the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County has the only youth federally chartered credi union in the world? It's also insured by NCUA. It's never too early to start teaching kids about managing their money!
During this full day summer camp, kids will experience Arts and Crafts, Sports and Recreation, Character and Leadership, Health and Life Skills, Summer Literacy to curb their summer learning loss, and a daily 1-2 hour block of Financial Literacy taught by Summit Credit Union and Star Credit Union professionals. (see weekly themes below). There will also be one field trip per week focused on Financial Literacy.
Food is included: lunch and two snacks.
WEEK ONE: STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM- Intro to financial literacy
WEEK TWO: SUPER RICH KIDS- The importance of savings & savings accounts
WEEK THREE: MO MONEY MO PROBLEMS- How to manage a checking account
WEEK FOUR: MATERIALS BOYS & GIRLS- Making Budgets
WEEK FIVE: FREE MONEY- Bad habits with money and credit
WEEK SIX: MONEY MAKER- The Stock Market! Investments!
WEEK SEVEN & EIGHT: THEY WORK HARD FOR THE MONEY- Financial Literacy Industry Shadowing
WEEK NINE: CELEBRATIONS & CONGRATULATIONS- Review games, prizes and parties
*All topics will be taught age appropriate through interactive games & projects!
