2018 BPS Healthcare Engineering Seminar                                                    Buckeye Power Sales is hosting our annual engineering seminar.  This is an educational event providing 8 hours of Continuing Professional Development hours.  This year our focus is on the healthcare industry, specifically related to the latest updates to codes and accreditation.  Design engineers, facility engineers, healthcare executives and others involved in the design and operation of healthcare facilities will benefit from attending this seminar.  Presenters from ASHE and The Joint Commission will be presenting and available to answer your questions.  

Topics to be covered  

NFPA Codes and Standards in the Healthcare Environment.  THis program, presented by ASHE Faculty, is a custom ASHE education program, developed for Buckeye Power Sales.

This presentation will provide an overview of NFPA 99, 110, 70, and 101 as they relate to the healthcare environment.  Attendees will review the requirements of the codes and learn how to apply them in the healthcare setting.  The presenter will discuss the requirements and challenges associated with the codes and examine how they work together to provide a higher level of safety and reliability in healthcare. Presented by Mr. Dave Dagenais BS, CHSP, CHFM, FASHE - Director of Plant Operations and Security Wentworth Douglass Hospital, Dover, NH

Joint Commission Resources Program.  The adoption of the 2012 editions of the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) and the Health Care Facilities Code (NFPA 99) have brought significant changes to the healthcare environment.  The Joint Commission has revised and added standards in the Life Safety and Environment of Care chapters to align with the changes.  This presentation will go over some of the more recent changes and provide information related to success during survey.  We will also review the Top Ten most cited standards and discuss why they continue to be troublesome. Presented by Mr. Rick Elder, BS CHFM, CHC - Joint Commission Resources

Buckeye Power Sales is an approved provider of Continuing Education by the Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.  This course is eligible for 8 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.  Certificates will be provided at the end of the seminar for proof of attendance. 

Seminar Fees  

This is a full day seminar 7:00am - 5pm.  Cost to attend is $349 for the first attendee, and $299 for each additional attendee. This fee includes all meals & class materials.  All fees are payable at the time of reqistration by credit card.
