"The Power of Endowments:  Why and Why Not?  Ethical and Other Considerations"

Presented by:   George Soenksen, Chief Development Officer,Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro

Talk Summary:   With a panel of fundraising professionals from various types of organizations, Gordon Soenksen will share and explore endowments. We’ll consider why and when endowments are useful to our organizations and donors and why when they are not and we’ll discuss creating the case for our organizations’ endowments. We’ll also talk about honoring and protecting the donors’ interests in creating endowments and the importance of gift acceptance committees. Since one size does not fit all in building endowments, a variety of perspectives will be shared.
