NAMI Smarts for Advocacy Workshop - Roanoke 

There is power in our experiences.

We are most effective when we give voice to those experiences through our programs and in our advocacy. NAMI Virginia will be hosting Smarts for Advocacy workshops to help members and non-members understand the value of their experiences and tangible skills to be community educators and advocates.

NAMI Smarts is a highly interactive and engaging workshop that employs a variety of adult learning strategies to build knowledge, confidence, and competence in:

• Writing and delivering short and compelling personal stories that articulate the points you wish to make
• Finding and using facts in speaking and writing
• Writing focused emails that have an impact
• Making effective phone calls
