Artist registration open until September 15.

Please note: Some media categories are subject to closing.

We work to create a very inclusive event for all eligible artists, but we also want to be as diverse as possible too. This means we may opt to close a media category to limit the number of participants in the festival.

About the Event

Friendswood Fine Arts nonprofit group presents the 8th annual Art in the Park Outdoor Art & Music Festival. An art festival concept that combines small town feels with big city ideas. A public juried festival designed to be inclusive to all fine crafters, artists, and designers. AITP was the first art festival in Friendswood, Texas and has grown to be the largest event of its kind in the area. We're working to change the landscape of our town, one festival at a time. We'd love to have you join us. Artist participation is open to all registrants who fall into one or more of the following catagories:

Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing, Fiber, Glass, Graphic & Printmaking, Jewelry, Metalwork, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Wood

This event is considered a FINE ARTS festival. If you are unsure if your work qualifies as a fine art, please refer to the Media Guidelines located in the complete list of participation rules, or email us for more information.

Here are a few of the Art in the Park perks:

PARTICIPATION IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE! Friendswood Fine Arts is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. This means that your participation in Art in the Park, or any FFAI sponsored event, is TAX DEDUCTABLE! That's right! Your participation fees qualify as deductions on your 2016 taxes!

ARTIST HOSPITALITY! Artists participating in Art in the Park 2017 will receive festival perks including complimentary breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings! Lunch will also be organized for you and delivered to your booth if you chose the have it catered, making that one less thing to have to think about during the festival days. During the Festival hours we are just a text away if you should need us. We have volunteers ready to stand in for a moment if you should need to step away from your booth.

ALL PROCEEDS GO BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY! Friendswood Fine Arts is a completely volunteer run nonprofit, which allows all proceeds from our events to be recycled back into the community through creativity-based events and volunteer work. To date, Friendswood Fine Arts has been able to return over $90,000 into the community through artistic events and presentations. Your participation means that we can continue to promote the arts for years to come.

PUBLIC JURIED EVENT Art in the Park is not your typical judge-juried art festival. We feel that this type of event is great, but we are incouraged to present a fresh take on the traditional art festival. One that invites the public to participate and help select who they would like to nominate as Featured Artist for the returning year, therefore the Artists are juried by the community and their peers. Visitors to the Festival will vote for their favorite artist, with the winner named as the Favorite Artist of that festival and named Featured Artist for the following years event. As reining "Featured Artist", they will be included on event marketing and promotional items, with possible web and social media mention for next 12 months. The winning artist will also go home with additional prizes donated by our sponsors, and is also invited back for the following year as our guest.

2 DAY FESTIVAL! AITP is 2 full days of exciting music and art demonstrations!

OVERNIGHT SECURITY SECURITY WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THE CLOSING HOURS BETWEEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNING.

Festival Hours: Saturday 10am-7pm. (This year, the festival will continue past dark, however Artists will only be required to stay open until 7pm on Saturday evening.) Sunday 11am-5pm
