PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE MBTA’S 2018 WASHINGTON COUNTY MEETING. We will learn about much publicized investments that are transforming the region. Washington County is one of the most economically challenged regions of the state and is working to reinvent itself by pursuing public and private infrastructure investments. The region has received federal and state support for recent port improvements. Reconstruction of the city’s breakwater and pier was completed last year. And the city is part of the “Cool & Connected” initiative of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to use broadband access to stimulate economic development.
