PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE MBTA’S 2018 CUMBERLAND MEETING. Our guest speaker will be from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and will discuss the economic outlook for Maine, the region and the industry. The region saw strong gains in several sectors during 2017, including construction employment, which out-performed all other sectors during Q4. Economists have forecast a strong 2018 for the economy and for construction. Still, questions remain: Will recent tax cuts enacted by Congress overheat the economy? And what effect does volatility in the stock market play in the outlook?
