About the Presenters 

Jeffrey C. O’Brien is a Partner with Mansfield Tanick & Cohen, P.A., practicing in the areas of business law, real estate law and estate and business succession planning. He has significant experience with the formation of new businesses and he oversees the Firm’s INCubation Center, a program designed to provide new and developing businesses with the essential legal and non-legal services in their formative years. Admitted to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin, Jeffrey has been named to the Minnesota SuperLawyers "Rising Stars" list for 2008, 2009 and 2010 and is a MSBA Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Microbusinesses, author of the blog "The Business Man's Lawyer", a contributing author to the "Vanilla Shell" blog, voice of the "Legal Minute" on the Real Estate Radio Hour, WCCO 830 AM and a featured advisor on "The Advisors", a business radio show on the Next Stage Business Radio Network.

Laura E. Kasemodel, MBA, ARM is the President/CEO of Risk & Insurance Consultants, LLC. Laura brings 24 years as a consultant risk manager serving clients around the world. Laura has provided risk management services to public entities, manufacturers, retail, non-profits, service-sector entities and health care organizations. She has conducted broker RFP projects for local and national clients. She has negotiated with underwriters to expand coverages for unique circumstances and to change terms and conditions within policies. She has developed effective safety programs for commercial operations. She specializes in making business income and extra expense coverages understandable for her clients. Laura can translate complex insurance terms into everyday conversation.

Kathleen E. Peck, ARM is the Executive Vice President/COO of Risk & Insurance Consultants, LLC. Kathleen brings 29+ years of commercial insurance experience. She has worked on the carrier side, the TPA side as well as the corporate risk management side. Her specialty is casualty claims resolution with a strong focus on workers compensation. She has managed worker compensation claims across the nation, in some of the toughest jurisdictions. She brings the corporate perspective and understands the pressures businesses face in today’s economy. She brings experience from the energy, transportation, commercial construction, manufacturing and food processing industries.
