Persevering to Prosperity
Many people only have one idea of prosperity – that involves putting as much money in their pockets as possible. For many in business, this is the primary scorecard by which success is measured – do I have more status or toys than my peers? It is a foreign notion for these types to consider the fact that adversity can actually be a building and shaping experience that makes us stronger.
God uses storms in our life to challenge us, to draw us closer to Him, to shape and build us, and to prepare us for what He has planned. Persisting through difficulties helps us to appreciate what is possible when we walk with God. And it shows others how the Lord responds. Prosperity, however we experience it, is our Lord’s currency; all of it blessings. The blessings come in many shapes and sizes; it may be in wealth and worldly riches to be stewarded for His purposes, or it may be in the form of wisdom, understanding, the privilege of serving others, or sharing the hope we have been given.
Persisting through difficulties to prosperity enhances the sweetness of the blessings all the more, strengthens our faith, and provides hope for those who are watching.
Why are we doing this and why should you attend?
As a group of Christian business owners who have been meeting together each month for more than four years, we have been privileged to see the ups/downs of that period, our respective reactions, the results, and the associated blessings. Not all of our experiences have been positive. In fact, it is the response to some of the more negative issues that we wanted to share with our neighbors in the business community as a means of providing hope. This seemed most appropriate, a means of offering "Thanks," as we approach Thanksgiving.
