Natives to the Rescue"

"Backyard Forestry in 90 Minutes" is a FREE educational program series sponsored by Rutgers Cooperative Extension, State Forestry Services & the NJ Forestry Association

July's Topic:  

This month, we are pleased to present:

"Pollinators in Peril: Natives to the Rescue",

This program will cover the relationship between insects and native plants and how we can best help the pollinator population with native plantings.  You won't want to miss this presentation!

The presenter, John Black, is the current President of The Native Plant Society of New Jersey, a Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide.  He has volunteered extensively for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) performing plant and animal surveys in remote areas of the Southwest as well as cave exploration and bat population surveys.  He has also volunteered extensively for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Edwin B. Forsythe NWR where he represented the refuge in community outreach and in programs of reconnecting people with nature.  He has served on the Board of Directors for Atlantic Audubon and has been a volunteer for the National Wildlife Federation (NWF).
