There will be no Nuts & Bolts Session at this meeting.

10:30 am Morning Session:
TOPIC: “Wills That Won’t: What Lifetime Tracking of 10,000 Decedents Tells Us About Charitable Plan Additions, Deletions and Ultimate Transfers.”
Speaker: Professor Russell James

Professor Russell James presents results from a 20+ year national longitudinal study tracking the estate planning of older adults.  Unique among research in our field, these results track changes in the plan during lifetime and connect these with actual post-mortem distributions after death.  Many surprising results suggest important changes in the best strategies to effectively encourage charitable bequest giving.

11:30am: Russell Kohr Award Presentation and Lunch

12:30 pm Afternoon Session:
TOPIC: “Inside the Mind of the Planned Giving Donor: New Neuroimaging Results That Will Change Your Marketing, Communications and Conversations.”
Speaker: Professor Russell James

Professor James presents the latest findings from his work at the Texas Tech Neuroimaging Institute examining how people contemplate charitable bequest gifts.  Going well beyond academic theory, this presentation provides concrete evidence of the effectiveness of specific planned giving marketing strategies, messages, and phrasing that you can immediately implement.
