Focusing on RFPs issued by Los Angeles County and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, this half-day workshop is designed to help non-profits successfully compete for public funding. It is geared especially for small agencies that may not have submitted prior proposals or that may not have the services of an experienced grant writer. In an interactive format, the workshop will cover the basics of applying for funding including planning and managing the proposal development timeline, understanding the application questions and how to respond appropriately, asking questions of the funder and monitoring the responses to gain clarity, meeting insurance and other threshold requirements, and many other details that result in a successful proposal.
Steve Renahan, Senior Policy Advisor and Nicky Viola, Senior Project Manager at Shelter Partnership, Inc. will conduct the workshop. Steve and Nicky have extensive experience designing, managing, and evaluating RFP processes for housing authorities and other public agencies.
