CASET invites you to a day of celebration of the great work of California economics teachers. Enjoy a day of fun as we present resources and information to help you improve your students' understanding of economics. Over 100 teachers will come together at the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank to celebrate their achievements and to share lesson plans, teaching strategies, and other extraordinary resources for teaching economics.
Topics will include resources provided by the SF Federal Reserve, Common Core Standards and their applications to Economics, CCEE’s new platform --- EconWorks!, a discussion of the infusion of personal finance into the Math Common Core Standards, and lessons on unemployment, supply and demand, and sunk cost and marginal cost.
A plenary session will involve lesson on using the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ FRED to access and manipulate the most current macro data for use in the classroom. A “Federal Reserve Quality” lunch will be served. At lunch, a Fed economist will explain the current economy and prospects for the near future.
97% of past attendees agreed that the day is very valuable in helping them teach econ to their students and 95% said that they would attend another CASET conference and would recommend it to their colleagues.
