Mass Casualty Attack Training (MCAT) is a dynamic three-day course that focuses on three basic principles; Stop the Killing, Stop the Dying and Rapid Casualty Evacuation. This response model has proven to be extremely effective and considered a “Best Practice” by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The student will understand the importance of establishing command as early in the incident as possible, as well as the responsibilities of command, staging and room-boss. The course of instruction is designed to provide options such as solo officer, two officer, and team response to a mass casualty incident. Subject matter experts familiarize the student with basic hallway movements, threshold evaluation, room entry, establishing security corridors and securing an ambulance exchange point for evacuation.
Several high-profile mass casualty incidents around the Country will be debriefed in order to discuss what worked, what didn’t work and what could have been done differently. Familiarization with the Rescue Taskforce model as well as responsibilities are provided. Students will participate in a full-scale active shooter drill on day three highlighting and reenforcing the course principals.
NO JEANS ALLOWED
The fee for this course is $715
