CANCELLATION POLICY
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
Due to rising cost and expenses generated by students who register for our courses and do not attend without notification, it has become necessary to institute the following policy:
In order to qualify for a full refund, students (or their employing agencies) must cancel no less than two weeks prior to the commencement of the course. Cancellations must be received via e-mail, and/or fax to the attention of the course coordinator. A confirmation of receipt and a cancellation number must be obtained from the coordinator. No claims will be accepted unless the aforementioned is adhered to. Cancellations made within the two week time period are subject to a $150 fee. Substitutions of students may be made at any time. Please call us immediately if you have any questions.
NOTE: NO-SHOWS (INCLUDING THOSE WHO CANCEL AFTER 3PM ON THE THURSDAY PRECEDING THE COURSE) WILL BE INVOICED THE FULL REGISTRATION FEE
Homicide Investigations
This course will take the new and experienced homicide investigator through the different aspects of investigating a homicide crime scene. Other topics that will be discussed are profiling violent crimes, interview and interrogation techniques, crime scene reconstruction and analysis, as well as identifying and documenting bloodstain patterns. Special attention will be given to forensic investigations, homicide and death scenes, domestic violence homicides, police shooting-survival mindset, police involved shooting investigation and homicides involving children. Multiple cases will be profiled and discussed.

The fee for this course is $825
***As a courtesy to our students we have a pre negotiated special room rate of $109 (with a 13% Tax unless tax exempt form is provided by your agency) at the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort if you would like to stay at the host hotel. For reservations, please contact the coordinator at rholtz@mdpd.com and she will email you the registration link. There is also a Resort Fee of $15 per room per night. In addition, there is complimentary self-parking or valet ($12)
*Please note there are a limited amount of rooms reserved at the special negotiated rate. Early room reservation is highly recommended. Reservations will be made individually no later than 30 days prior to the start of the course. If you are unable to make the room reservation prior to the 30 day window please contact the course coordinator for assistance prior to making the reservation.
