2018 Minority Health Awareness Summit

Thank you for your interest in our 2018 Minority Health Awareness Summit. During this event, we will dive deep into the social determinants of health and how they specifically affect our community and infant mortality. We will also discuss perinatal health disparities and work closely in small groups to address those disparities.

We have several phenomenal speakers including, Carmen Green, as our keynote speaker this year. Ms. Green is is a CBPP State Policy Fellow focusing on health in Louisiana. Prior to joining Louisiana Budget Project in the fall of 2016, she was the Louisiana Program Director and National Training Director for the National Birth Equity Collaborative. The organization’s goal to decrease Black infant mortality allowed her to develop her knowledge of health disparities, race equity, health policy and social justice.

We are also very fortunate to welcome speakers from Healthy Start Epic and the Office of Public Health. All of this could not be possible without our wonderful sponsors, Project Launch, Crescent City WIC Servics, Inc., Healthy Start EPIC, National Birth Equity Collaborative, Louisiana Department of Health Bureau of Minority Health Access and Promotions, and Brentwood Behavioral Health and Hospital. We are so appreciative of their support and commitment to not only our agency, but the community at large. Lunch will be served, but seating is limited so register now!
