WHY?: Enrich your soul, mix up your running mentally and physically, get stronger, meet new people, expand your horizons. Combining trail and road running is just the best!
WHO: Runners with adventurous spirits who want to discover new trails each week and appreciate the “no-drop” experience of group exploration. Men and women are welcome! Participants will train for 5k, 10k, half and full marathon options.
NEW! Trail Walkers Group. Join our walkers/hikers group to enjoy the trails for 2- hours with us. Routes are modified, but you will still see stunning trails!
WHEN: Sunday mornings 7am- 9am (longer for half or full marathon training)
SPECIAL EVENT: Saturday, March 21st is our End of Season Party at the Irvine Regional Park after our run or race. Friends and family invited. (no training Sunday, March 22nd)
DATES: Now - March 29, 2015 (spring program will follow)
March 28th and 29th are our TriLaVie Team Event Reaching for the Cure!
DISTANCES: Each run will be 6-8 miles and the terrain will vary from packed earth to “billy-goat” climbs. Please plan for 2-hours as you will experience a challenging run paired with a few moments to enjoy the views. Half and Marathon trainers will add distance each week as per your training plan. Plan your long run on weekends with 2-3 shorter runs during the week.
TRAINING PLAN: Runners training for the Reaching for the Cure 5k/10k/Half Marathon will receive a detailled training plan including distances and specific workout instructions with coaching on fueling, equipment, nutrition, strength, stretch and self-care techniques.

RACES: There are many new trail races to do along the way and we highly recommend trying a few, but it is not required. Distances from 3-50 miles, check them out! (More details below)
EQUIPMENT: Trail running or sturdy running shoes, hydration device for 20 or more ounces of water (handheld, belt or camelback), additional energy snacks ie: gels, bars, yummy blocks, layered clothing for variable temperatures, sunscreen.
LOCATIONS: Locations will vary on a weekly basis and may depend upon weather and rains.
