You Want Me to Teach Literacy in P.E. Class?

DATE:  May 4, 2017

TIME:  9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

FEE:  $45

This session will focus on what literacy really means to physical education teachers and how we can implement it into our classes with ease. The success of school is almost always tied directly to the literacy rate. Physical literacy in its simplest form is the ability to use the body as an instrument of expression/ communication; and the ability to articulate/demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of health and physical fitness. We will learn fun new activities to integrate physical literacy and other forms of literacy into lesson plans.  Come dressed to participate and have some fun. This could count towards the literacy or content requirement for PE teachers.  Dr. Natalie Boone, a professor of PE at Mars Hill University, will lead this exciting day.  For more information, contact April Spencer at aspencer@wresa.org or 828.774.5681, ext. 20.

 Fees are Non-Refundable
