Title: Using the N.C. Teacher Evaluation Standards to Improve Teacher and Student Performance
Instructional leaders create school-based evaluation systems that improve the performance of both teachers and students in the classroom. They create systems that answer the essential question: “How do know if teachers are using effective researched-based practices that result in the students learning the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare them to be career and college ready?” Participants will review and discuss various strategies and topics that will assist them creating their own “system” for effective teacher evaluations. Additional topics include: Evidences and examples of the N.C. Teacher Evaluation Standards, Planning an Effective Teacher Evaluation Orientation, Classroom Walkthroughs, Data and Feedback, Teacher Observations, Teacher Conferences, and Student Work Samples, and Student Feedback.
