TITLE:  Using Our Own Non-Fiction Texts to Engage Our Students

This course will incorporate several literacy strategies that any 6-12 grade teacher can use to get every kid engaged. You will use and create One Page Wonders (OPW) to teach content area reading. The course will be based on Harvey Daniels and Nancy Steinke’s book Text and Lessons for Content Area Reading. You will be required to purchase the book before the class begins. This course will start March 28^th and end May 9th. It is worth 2 CEUs. You will be expected to use these strategies in your classrooms.
