TITLE:  Latest and Greatest Chapter Books - Grades 3-8

This one-day workshop is designed to offer teachers a motivating selection of fiction and informational text for classroom instruction. Newly-published chapter books will be presented along with their correlated Common Core and Essential Standards (Grades 3-8). Participants will leave with five chapter books as well as ways to use them in standards implementation: integration of units, motivating reluctant readers, character education, content area instruction and encouraging engaged, recreational readers. Participants will earn 5 hours of credit for the day with an optional additional 5 hours available for electronic follow-up activities. Karen Sumner will facilitate this session.
