Teaching Our Gifted Students: How to Successfully Differentiate in the Elementary Classroom

Lynne Fender, elementary AIG teacher, will share lesson/unit ideas for K-5 instruction incorporating the growth mindset in a practical and integrated fashion. The focus unit will be on Snowflake Bentley, because it is easy to integrate and teaches growth mindset.  We will examine the specific needs of high achieving and gifted students and collaborate on developing lesson/unit ideas for high achieving and gifted students. An additional goal is to create a network of teachers across the region who are willing to share ideas for reaching high achieving, gifted students.  Contact Karen Sumner (ksumner@wresa.org) with questions.
