Young students can learn to write with purpose. This session will focus on writing in K-2 classrooms through the use of investigation journals, problem solving notebooks, poetry, and writing journals. The presenter will show how a balance of carefully selected fictional and informational texts can serve as models for students to use when writing across the curriculum. This session will provide ideas for writing in all content areas throughout the day. Presenter is Melissa Faetz, Region 8 2014 Teacher of the Year and first grade teacher at South Macon Elementary School.
