“Every man can, if he so desires, become the sculptor of his own brain.”
Santiago Ramon y Cajal (1852-1934)
Brain improvement is achievable by anyone. Scientific research has demonstrated that our brains continue to change, learn and grow throughout our lives. This concept, called neuroplasticity or brain plasticity, is at the core of education. Join Dr. David Hardy, of Asheville’s Apex Brain Center to discuss how the human brain develops and changes throughout a student’s life. Find out how to build your classroom to support your student’s brains, gain knowledge into how the brain actually works and most importantly find out what can be done to build a better brain. Below are four questions that every educator should know. Do you know the answers to them?
1) What are the three things a brain needs to survive and thrive?
2) What are the biomarkers for the brain?
3) What areas of the brain are prone to injury and what can be done for these injured areas?
4)What builds new and/or stronger connections in the brain?
