District leaders and teachers using Open Class in Home Base will sign in to OpenClass, practice basic site navigation and understand the components of the Dashboard.

OpenClass is an online learning environment that allows students to collaborate and see course information and for teachers to manage their courses and facilitate instruction.  As a part of the Home Base solution, it offers a student-facing environment with rosters and courses that automatically sync with PowerSchool.   OpenClass works powerfully with Schoolnet allowing teachers to assign and deliver high quality lesson plans and instructional resources aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

Attendees of this session will learn how to use OpenClass to:

-Create and manage courses in the online environment

-Develop and present multimedia rich course content

-Explore subjects using social learning

-Collaborate on projects

-Hold active discussions
