Are you interested in developing your own trail as a leader? The WRESA Aspiring Administrators Institute will enhance your knowledge and leadership skills. Designed for assistant principals and teacher leaders who aspire to become principals, these sessions provide expert advice on qualities of effective school administrators, communication skills for holding difficult conversations, leadership principles for life balance, and practical advice for successful administrating.
September 23, 2014 What Do Districts Look for in Administrators?
Human resource directors and central office staff will discuss attributes they seek when hiring administrators. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and determine potential areas for professional growth. Regional HR Directors and administrators will facilitate this session.
November 18, 2014 Essential Communication Skills
Communication is a key ingredient for success as a school administrator. There are times when you must have difficult conversations with others when you are in a leadership position. This day will give you specific skills and opportunities to practice challenging conversations. This introduction to Critical Conversations will be facilitated by the WRESA staff.

Do you often feel that you have issues and agendas that can take away your time from doing what most needs to be done? Are you balancing your personal and professional life or are you feeling overwhelmed? This day will be spent looking at key aspects of the 7 habits that impact our leadership styles and effectiveness. You will leave with tools for being a more effective leader. April Spencer, certified 7 Habits trainer, will facilitate this discussion.
April 21, 2015 Practical Advice from Principals
Current and former school administrators will discuss topics all principals must address when leading a successful school. These successful practitioners from all school levels across our region will share insight, best practices, common sense advice, and real scenarios.
