The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model is a research-based and validated instructional model that has proven effective in addressing the academic needs of English learners. This one-day SIOP refresher workshop is for any interested educators who are already trained in SIOP. It will provide a summary of the SIOP Model and includes information and opportunities for discussion about how the SIOP Model can be articulated with other professional development efforts and other state-led initiatives while integrating English language development (WIDA Standards) and academic content instruction.  This workshop will also provide information on how to focus on fidelity, a sustainable support system, and various effective ways to implement the SIOP Model based on the LEA/Charter’s needs assessment. Must have a minimum of 30 participants.
