Looking for a way to engage your 8th grade students? How about Biotechnology? Better yet, how about grossing them out with viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites, diseases, and so much more?  The Science House of NCSU and BioNetwork of Asheville have the workshop for you. “Mystery of the Malignant Microbe” is a workshop designed to assist 8th grade science teachers in promoting an understanding of the hazards caused by agents of diseases that affect living organisms. Find yourself caught in a bio-mystery in the morning in which a problem-based learning scenario will be utilized. Then explore the real-world biotechnology behind such mysteries as you spend the afternoon in the Biotechnology lab at BioNetwork. Workshop will be presented by Dr. Teresa H.
