Eric Jensen’s latest book, Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind, has great ideas for teachers to rethink the way they engage students. We will spend the day exploring the factors that affect student success and start the conversation around the 5 core rules for teachers by looking at some of these practical ideas for raising achievement. Come prepared to participate fully as we model and prepare you to tailor these strategies to your classroom. Brooke Mabry, Curriculum Instructional Specialist, McDowell County Schools and April Spencer, Secondary/PD Coordinator will be co-facilitating this workshop. If you have questions, please contact April Spencer, aspencer@wresa.org /828.418.0011 ext. 20, or Tina Joyner, tjoyner@wresa.org, ext. 19.
