Examine the protocols and frameworks necessary to construct clear pathways to measure and develop student performance to meet the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts (ELA), literacy in the content areas, and/or CCSS for Mathematics. This session covers the professional development areas of characteristics of performance tasks, developing performance tasks, and evidence of student learning. It provides a deep, interactive experience that focuses on what the CCSS instructional shifts mean for curriculum, performance tasks, and student work. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to do the following: identify characteristics of performance tasks; align tasks to the CCSS; analyze student work for evidence of understanding; develop performance tasks assigned to the CCSS; and explore implications for instruction. The presenter will be a Pearson instructor. If you have questions, contact Dr. Jan Webster (jwebster@wresa.org/828.418.0011, ext. 22) or Vicki Wilson (ext. 22/vwilson@wresa.org. Credit hours: .5
